Hours

Pilot’s 4th floor suite doors are open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Cafes

The cafes, located on the 3rd and 4th floors, are situated on a beautiful architectural curve that greets you when you enter the space.    There is a mix of low tables, banquette seating and high-top tables with plenty of coffee amenity stations, microwaves, refrigerators, ice makers and TVs.

Please be respectful of the common space and be sure to clean up after yourself in all areas of the cafes.

Kitchen and Pantries

Pantry areas include either lounge furniture or high-top tables with power and data where you can get coffee and water and plug in your laptop for non-private meetings.

Kitchens and pantries are stocked with coffee, tea and plastic cutlery. Please be sure to wipe surfaces and place all trash in the proper receptacles after each use.

Pilot’s Lobby

The lobby area has been designed to give employees and visitors a first impression that speaks to the strategic initiatives and culture of the company.  The space offers various seating options, charging stations and complimentary Wi-Fi available for your convenience.  The large TV will be focused on Pilot’s mission and goals to allow our guests to become immersed in the company as soon as they walk through the door.

The restaurant-style booth is designed for two to four people, has a roof above and is lined with felt, which muffles sound. Each acoustical booth has an outlet on the side and can be used as an alternative work space.

Wellness Room

A Wellness Room located on the 3rd floor is an 8’x8’ handicapped accessible room that contains a sofa and a refrigerator, and is equipped with a privacy lock. This multiuse room is an area for nursing mothers, but when not occupied, can also be a place where an employee can seek respite.

Pilot’s Corporate Headquarters: Office Etiquette

Office etiquette are simple, common sense, actions that show respect for your co-workers.  Now that we are working in a collaborative space, it is more important than ever to keep a few respectful thoughts in mind as you go about your work day.  We’ve highlighted a few of them below.

General Office Etiquette Reminders

  • Use meeting spaces for private conversations.
  • Be conscious of the temptation to stop and interrupt people doing heads down work.
  • Use common and meeting spaces for private conversations.
  • Use common areas and meeting spaces if appropriate for specific work activities when needed.
  • Out of respect for your co-workers, please enjoy meals in the cafes and not at your desk.
  • Please hang jackets in a coat closet located in the area closest to your workspace.
  • Be respectful of the common space and be sure to clean up after yourself and your guests in all common areas.
  • If you prefer to listen to music while working, please use headphones so co-workers are not disrupted.
  • Due to health concerns, reheating or consuming seafood is prohibited.

Clean Desk Policy

Pilot’s clean desk policy has been developed to ensure the right image is conveyed when our customers and others visit our HQ, in addition to reducing the security risk of unprotected passwords and other confidential information.  As a general rule, desks should be free of clutter and all personal items should be placed on desks in an organized and professional manner. The clean policy guidelines include:

  • No offensive pictures or items
  • Please do not place anything on the workstation end panels or gray dividers.
  • Only a personal bag (purse, backpack, etc.) hung from the bag hanger attached to the work station.
  • If you have an office, please leave all window sills clear.
  • Please do not display name plates from your work station at 314 Middletown Road or either Rose Tree locations
  • At the end of the working day all employees are expected to clear their desk and to put away all office papers.

Department managers should assist their employees in understanding and adhering to the clean desk policy.

Tips for having a clean and neat desk area

  1. Put a date and time in your calendar to clear your paperwork.
  2. If in doubt – throw it out.
  3. Use recycling bins for office paper no longer needed.
  4. Do not print emails to read them. This creates clutter and wastes paper.
  5. Go through the things on your desk to make sure you need them and what you don’t need throw away.
  6. Handle any piece of paper only once – act on it, file it, or put it in the bin.
  7. Always clear your desktop before you go home.
  8. Scan paper items and file them in your PC.

ESG

In accordance with Pilot’s ESG policy, the corporate headquarters will follow environmentally friendly practices to be the best of our ability.  Two areas we will focus on are reduction of paper and recycling.

Reduction in the use of paper

For the last several months, there have been a number of communications regarding our commitment to a paperless work environment.  While we simply cannot be 100% paperless, we do expect that all employees adhere to our ESG policy and are now prepared to be as paperless as possible in our new HQ.  By reducing paper usage, we are also reducing the need for costly toners and inks, as well as the amount of filing space needed throughout the office space.

Recycling

Please use the proper receptacle for recycling paper, plastic and cardboard.

Be sure to recycle the following items:

  • Copy paper
  • Magazines
  • Catalogs
  • Newspaper
  • Cardboard
  • Manila folders
  • Paper envelopes
  • Aluminum/steel/tin food or beverage containers (please rinse clean if it contained food)
  • Plastic numbered ‘1’ or ‘2’ and glass bottles/jars

The following items are not able to be recycled:

  • Aluminum foil/plates
  • Aerosol cans
  • Messenger/tyvek envelopes
  • Plastic numbered ‘3-7’
  • Waxed cartons
  • Pizza/food boxes
  • Used cups/plates
  • Bathroom/kitchen waste

Food waste cannot be deposited in the recycle containers. If food waste is commingled, the entire contents of the recycle bin must be disposed of as regular trash.

Meal Breaks

All meals should be eaten in the café, not at your workstation. Snacking at your desk is acceptable however; out of respect for co-workers in our new collaborative workspace, we ask that all meals are enjoyed in the café.

Due to health concerns, reheating or consuming seafood is prohibited.

Meeting Rooms

Please use meeting rooms that are the appropriate size for the number of attendees in your meeting.   Holding a meeting in a room larger than needed may inconvenience larger groups.

When your meeting is complete, please make sure all electronic equipment is turned off and the table is cleared of all items when you leave the room.

If you have a working meeting that includes food, please remove all food and related items before leaving the room.

Please be respectful of the common space and be sure to clean up after yourself and your guests in all meeting rooms.

Windows

Windows are an organic design element, and the new HQ has many window walls that let in natural light.

To keep the exterior look of the building uniform, all window blinds must be kept at the same height and opening.   Please also be sure window sills are kept clear.
