Gordon Branov

Chief Executive Officer

Gordon Branov is a veteran at Pilot Freight Services of more than twenty years. His main responsibilities include the development and execution of Pilot’s long and short-term objectives. Those goals range from internal and external growth opportunities including existing or new customers, products and markets, to profitability and communicating shareholder and investor values. He leads the charge in setting the overall tone and organization’s vision with the assistance of the entire C-Suite of executives comprised of the President and Chief Commercial Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer who he directs daily.

As an astutely self-motivated and intuitive leader who excelled at team building, trouble shooting and corporate problem solving, Branov quickly moved through the Pilot ranks over the last two decades helping grow the company to where it is today. Former positions include Regional Vice President, District Manager and Operations Manager.

A graduate of Brock University, one of Canada’s top post-secondary institutions located in St. Catharines, Ontario. He currently resides in Paoli, PA with his wife and three children where he golfs, plays hockey and enjoys shuttling his three children to and from sporting events in his personal time.

John Hill

President & Chief Commercial Officer

With over 30 years of experience in the transportation industry, John Hill began his career in 1980 with then Emery Worldwide at JFK Airport, ascending to various sales and operations positions, eventually becoming the Director of Sales for the East Coast.

He joined DHL in 1990 as Director of Sales for the Northeast and was also the USA business champion for DHL Asia. He left DHL in 1994 to join Pilot Air Freight, initially charged with leading Pilot’s national account program, an anomaly in domestic forwarding since most companies in the segment specialize in local accounts.

Since 1994, Pilot’s revenues have organically grown from $75M to over $800M. John is currently heading up all of Pilot’s verticals including: Government, Home Delivery, Automotive, International, Customs Brokerage, National Accounts and Pilots Logistics Division.

John sits on the advisory board of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.  He attended Hofstra University at both the undergraduate and graduate level, earned an athletic scholarship for lacrosse and is an aficionado of rap and hip-hop music.

 

 

 

Lisa Coyle

Chief Administrative Officer

Lisa Coyle is the Chief Administrative Officer at Pilot Freight Services, where she’s responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and overall performance for over 100 colleagues in crucial corporate divisions of the business, including human resources, quality, security, purchasing, billing, national customer service and office services. She provides strong corporate leadership to department managers, ensures that administrative policies are functioning efficiently, prepares and oversees financial reports and motivates sales and customer service staff.

Since joining Pilot in 1979, Coyle has had great success in establishing herself as a valued and respected member of the Pilot team with substantial logistics and overall industry experience. Having held various roles such as Executive Administrative Assistant, Marketing Manager and most recently Vice President, Quality and Administration, she has honed her professional and interpersonal skills over the course of her 35 years of service within the industry.

She is a member of The American Society for Quality (ASQ), the knowledge-based global community of quality professionals, dedicated to promoting and advancing quality tools, principles, and practices in their workplaces and neighborhoods. Coyle is a resident of Springfield, PA, where she lives with her husband. In her free time, she enjoys reading a variety of literature for leisure, spending quality time with family and friends and focusing her passion and skill set on a number of local groups and organizations.

 

Mark Baker

Chief Technology Officer

Mark Baker joined Pilot in 2018 to take on the newly created role of Chief Technology Officer. Pilot has always placed a strong emphasis on technology, and his role demonstrates the company’s focus on reinforcing and integrating company-wide IT solutions. Baker is responsible for modernizing Pilot’s technology, both internal and customer-facing, so that communications remain efficient and customers receive superior service with greater transparency. This includes applying best practices to the company’s existing IT, as well as managing, directing and selecting cutting-edge logistics software and technology that drive Pilot’s core business processes.

Baker brings more than 23 years of senior IT management experience to Pilot, operating exclusively in the transportation and logistics industry for most of his career. Most recently, as global chief information officer for JAS Worldwide, he led a comprehensive global IT integration and application development plan.

Baker is based out of the company’s corporate headquarters in Lima, PA. He is a member of the Association of IT Professionals and the Georgia CIO Leadership Association.

Zach Pollock

Chief Operating Officer

Zach Pollock joined Pilot in 2005, where he climbed the ranks to become Chief Operating Officer in 2018. In this role, Pollock works to maintain Pilot’s operational success, develop an operations blueprint to meet Pilot’s business goals, and create solutions that support current sales processes and encourage new opportunities.

Pollock’s combination of roles within Pilot gives him a unique perspective on all points of the company’s operations while keeping long-term goals in mind. As a district manager, Pollock set himself apart by significantly growing sales, increasing station efficiencies and cultivating and recruiting operations teams in his region. He successfully transformed Pilot’s Detroit and Chicago stations into outstanding performers, helping Detroit to become one of the largest and most productive stations in the country.

When he served as regional vice president, he moved the entire Chicago station to a new, state-of-the-art facility to accommodate growing operations there. Pollock assembled and mentored a team that dramatically grew Pilot Chicago’s e-commerce and retail services results, while simultaneously developing system tools for these specific products to benefit the entire Pilot network.

These successes propelled Pollock to executive vice president of corporate stations spanning the entire country, and eventually to his current position.

 

 

 

Andrew Lazarus

Chief Financial Officer

Andrew Lazarus joined Pilot Freight services as Chief Financial Officer in 2019. In this role, Lazarus will help lead Pilot through a period of significant strategic growth and operational transformation.

From 2015 to 2018, he was the Chief Financial Officer within the Applied Intelligence division of BAE Systems, Plc., a cyber security and intelligence solutions provider. He was responsible for the five-year strategic planning process and was accountable for the financial reporting, planning and compliance for operations in 18 countries.

From 2009 to 2014, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Silver Sky, a leading cloud-based, security solutions provider. At Silver Sky, he was responsible for strategic growth initiatives including the design and execution of plans for successfully transforming the operational performance of the corporate finance, accounting, legal and human resource organizations. He led the Silver Sky strategic sale process to and integration with BAE Systems, Plc.

From 2003 to 2008, he was the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Strategy Officer of Genesys Conferencing, a leading international provider of unified communications and conferencing solutions delivered as a SaaS offering. At Genesys, he helped to integrate 14 acquisitions across 25 countries, strengthen its capital structure and direct its resources towards significant investment in research and development and international sales initiatives. During his tenure at Genesys, a publicly traded company duly listed on Nasdaq and EuroNext, equity value grew by 300%. He helped to lead the strategic sale of Genesys to West Corporation.

From 1993 to 2003, Andrew was an investment banker focusing on emerging growth companies in the telecommunications, Internet infrastructure and SaaS providers. He was responsible for advising companies on achieving their growth objectives in part by successfully executing capital markets and M&A strategies.  He has led several IPO’s, leverage lending, M&A and restructuring transactions.

He received his MBA from New York University, Stern School of Business, in 1993 and his BS from Babson College in 1987.
