LIMA, Pa.—August 19, 2008—Pilot Freight Services, a worldwide provider of transportation and logistics services, today announced the company has been honored with the 2008 Quest for Quality Award from Logistics Management, the distinguished monthly magazine for supply chain professionals. This marks the 19th time Pilot has earned the esteemed Quest for Quality Award. This year’s award recognizes overall service excellence in freight forwarding reader-based ratings in five areas: performance, value, information technology, customer service, and equipment and operations.

Pilot Freight Services Closes Q2 with Record Financial Results

Lima, Pa.–July 24, 2008—Pilot Freight Services, a worldwide provider of transportation and logistics services, today announced financial results for the quarter ending June 30, 2008. Nationwide, Pilot reported quarterly revenue of $98.7 million, up 15.7% from the second quarter of 2007. In addition, the company saw revenue of $35.2 million in June, the highest single-month revenue in its 37-year history, exceeding the previous record by more than $3 million.

“We are thrilled to continue with such strong growth in the second quarter of 2008, and to have hit a new company record in June,” said Richard G. Phillips Jr., CEO of Pilot Freight Services, “The credit for this success goes to each of our stations, who have all stepped up to maintain Pilot’s success, even in this difficult economy.”

Pilot saw double digit growth in all of its product areas, including special services, home delivery, and particularly international business, where revenue exceeded $10 million in the month of June alone. Overall, the company transported over 122 million pounds of freight in the second quarter.

Pilot Freight Services Enhances Support for Franchises with New Executive Position

LIMA, Pa.—May 14, 2008—Pilot Freight Services, a worldwide provider of transportation and logistics services, announced today that Frank Perri, a long-time veteran of the company, has been appointed Executive Vice President of Franchise Development. Perri, who has worked at Pilot for over 21 years, began his career at the company as V.P. of National Accounts, later serving as Senior V.P. of Sales and Marketing, and most recently Executive Vice President.

This is a new position within the company, and will allow Pilot to provide additional support to its 36 franchises nationwide. Perri will be the key executive link between franchises and the corporate office, and serve as a business advisor in various areas including building and maintaining sales forces, enhancing lead development, and driving new marketing initiatives. His extensive background and experience provide him with a unique insight into how the company and the industry work, which he will use to provide support and value to all Pilot franchises

Perri has been involved in many of the company’s major initiatives over his tenure, including developing and implementing Pilot’s sales training program, forming the World Freight Alliance, and introducing a customized CRM system. He has recruited franchisees, corporate station managers, key sales executives and salespeople.

Pilot Freight Services’ Announces Q1 Financial Results

Lima, PA - April 28, 2008—Pilot Freight Services, a worldwide provider of transportation and logistics services, today announced financial results for the quarter ending Mar. 31, 2008. Nationwide, Pilot reported quarterly revenue of $82.5 million, up 4.6% from the first quarter of 2007.

Pilot saw the largest growth in its international business, national accounts, and special services, all which saw strong increases over 2007’s Q1 revenue. Overall, the company managed over 156,000 shipments, transporting over 110 million pounds of freight in the first quarter.

“Our strong growth over the first quarter was a great start to 2008, after a record year in 2007,” said Richard G. Phillips Jr., CEO of Pilot Freight Services, “This success can be attributed to our continued focus on customer service, and a record of efficient, on-time delivery.”
