Pilot delivers holiday cheer
to needy Iraqis.

As part of a US government fundraiser, the Army Corps of Engineers collected boots and shoes for Iraqi volunteers helping them to rebuild their country last year. To ensure the footwear reached Baghdad before Christmas, the Corps also enlisted the help of Pilot.

Karla Reese-Beltrand of Pilot's Seattle station answered the call. She and Pilot station owner Patrick Allen donated their time, organizing and packing 1,500 pounds of boots and shoes while Pilot financed the shipments flight expense. Two pallets of footwear arrived in time for distribution to the Iraqis on December 24th.

Karla's story is just one more example of Pilot people working tirelessly to become a shipper's best friend. In fact, in 2005, Pilot moved more than 35 million pounds of freight worldwide for military and defense customers.
